What we're looking for...

Supply chain disruptions and global uncertainty defined the last few years of distribution as well as global and domestic logistics. Despite these challenges, our organization anticipated, adapted, and worked diligently to mitigate ever evolving risks. 

We are seeking a high-energy, dynamic leader to become our VP, Distribution and Global Logistics to develop and implement best practices and help to evolve our network.  This role is an opportunity in to help transform our organization as we seek to maintain and grow our competitive advantage in these areas.  In this role, you will be a key member of our Operations team. The successful candidate will be comfortable pivoting between mapping out and leading strategic initiatives and “rolling up their sleeves” to manage day-to-day issues.

Expectations & Accountabilities...

  • Oversee a domestic multi-site warehousing network and our logistics organization.

  • Manage logistics for inbound, inter-company and outbound shipments including 3PL’s for domestic, international and parcel freight programs.

  • Develop long-range objectives and strategies for the distribution centers, monitor performance against these objectives and provide feedback to site direct report(s) and team members.

  • Provide strong leadership to create and execute strategies, improvement priorities and the predictable delivery of other KPIs.

  • Create standard operating procedures and best practices in terms of performance monitoring to optimize quality, cost and delivery time.

  • Manage budget and implement continuous improvement projects and performance metrics to improve financial performance.  Identify and implement cost reduction programs that meet or exceed the business plan.

  • Work closely with our supply chain and manufacturing teams to ensure all products are transported efficiently and cost-effectively from our suppliers, manufacturing plants and distribution centers.

  • Drive predictable productivity & business results while also ensuring efficient and effective operations.

  • Promotes “total customer satisfaction” (delivery, quality etc.) within all Operations teams.

  • Ensure employee safety at the distribution centers.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to be successful...

  • 15+ years of experience in distribution, logistics, ocean/ground transportation and inventory control within a global organization.

  • Experience managing Third Party Logistics (3PL), freight companies and other logistics providers.

  • In depth knowledge and experience with key supply chain/logistics processes, best practices, and implementing process improvements

  • Strong business acumen with both strategic skills and the ability to implement and execute.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and a critical thinker who can work through complex business issues and make decisions quickly.

  • Highly collaborative and proactively engages colleagues from all relevant functions.  Excellent organizational skills, teamwork, leadership development, lean/problem solving and communication capabilities.

  • A high sense of urgency and the ability to build and lead strong teams to achieve new levels of performance

  • Excellent computer skills including experience utilizing multiple ERP & WMS systems; also strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or a related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

Qualifications that set you apart...

  • Experience working with SAP within a multi-site environment and best-of-class logistics and warehouse management systems.

  • Experience implementing and/or working with automation with a distribution center.

  • Demonstrated leadership in a LEAN / 6 Sigma environment

  • Advanced degree in Business or related field is preferred.
